Last Sunday, I knocked off from work, feeling very tired and was making my way to the MRT station when a sight-handicapped lady walked past us. I seen her before in the area and I think she was making her way to the bus stop nearby to take a bus. I was thinking whether to help her to the bus stop but I was feeling very tired and wanted to get home as soon as possible. There were also a sort of group influence spread by other in front of me because all of them were walking towards the MRT and no one stopped to help her along. In the end, I did not help her.

Reaching CCK mrt, I came across another lady but this time she is not a handicapped personnel. You know normally at neighbourhood shopping mall there are always some handicapped/old people who will sell tissues or street-bask to earn some money. I ignored them most of the time but this time I saw the lady stuffing money ( $1? $2?) into the hand of the desitute and the destitute was thanking her profusely and offering her packets of tissues. It brought a smile to the lady who didn't take up the offer, saying it's alright and proceed on.

Sometimes lending a helping hand to others who genuinely is in need of help can be simple. It's only a matter whether we choose to do it or not. Walking towards the bus interchange, I came across another destitute playing music instrument at the side of the passageway. He was playing in sweat, perhaps having played for some hours already. Coincidentally, he finished playing his piece just as I was walking past him and paused for a break. I continued walking past before turning back again, inserting a 50 cents coin into his donation box. Thinking back, I can have donated more but don't ask me why I choose to donate only $0.50 at that moment of time.

I think it all boils down to the sight-handicapped lady at Buona Vista. It sorted of 'chain-effect' during the entire journey, making me feel that I missed the chance to help on the first try, got taught a lesson on the 2nd, and providing me an opportunity to make things right on the 3rd.

What a journey back home...

meanwhile, I went for the NBS interview at NTU yesterday. It was a challenging interview, 2 prof vs 1 me that lasted for 35 mins. They seem to have a issue with my age 23 entering into the NBS and graduating later than my peers. Of course I have thought of this before I came for the interview and answered to the best of my ability. So to those who always feel I don't talk much, it's actually I'm deep in thought! I made a very glaring mistake during the interview, partly because Iam a greenhorn in business studies which I also admitted in front of the professors but they were also quite fatherly. After telling them a little of my goals and career paths ahead, they provided me some insights and advices. Overall, the interview was ok and now it's all depend on god will to see whether I can get back to NTU. It is not the only route available, there are still some options available but of course it is still the most ideal path thou.
