Today I watched '881' with my mama on a sat nite because we were both free and I think this is one of the show which she can understand and enjoy at the same time.
the show was quite comical with the energy of Liu Ling Ling performance overwhelming the rest of the cast. The Hokkien song sung was quite nice..thinking of buying the OST. They might sound crude but nevertheless quite meaningful. The show is a little draggy in the end..esp when both sister hugged each other till little sister died but thinking back it was a nice move by the director to end off the movie.
A nice local production. My mama kept saying how wise she is by talking to me in Hokkien when I was young and now I can reap the benefit of knowing the language, amid can't speak very well but I am able to listen.Haha... I think chances are teenagers nowadays don't even know which dialect group they come from..let alone speak their dialect language.
I think movie is a brilliant method to immortalize yourself yourself forever.
Look at Marilyn Monroe and you'll be immediately remind of the photo of her in white dress trying to press down her skirt..she lives forever in that picture even she passed away a long time ago. I came upon this idea when I watched the Oscars last year and there was this segment in the show where they showed screen image of past actor/actress who passed away for that year.
I want to live forever. I want to act in movie...Hahaha.
Man Utd just won Sunderland by the score of 1-0. 17 shots, 9 shots on goal and the score is only 1-0. Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon must have a busy night lol.
Since school reopened, there is not as much time as I liked to read up. My reading have been constricted to textbooks and weekend newspapers. But there are only 24 hrs a day and I guessed I can only read more storybooks during the holiday period.
Saw this on a library book. It is actually a quote by Harper Lee, the author who wrote the very famous book " To Kill A MockingBird. It goes like this: "Real courage is when you know you are licked before you begin but you begin anyway and see it thru no matter what"
Nice..I like but it can only be apply to some..not all aspects in your life.
I think I got a mid-20 yrs old crisis now. On 1 hand, I think I belong to the 2nd yr/3rd yr in school but on the other hand I'm stuck with the 1st yr student. Guys are still alrite but I got a first glimpse of further things to come from the gers. Maybe that explained the reason why I like to hang out with "seniors" in school because there are more stuffs to talk about. But for long term it is not very healthy as I need to network and make more frens from 1st yr to last the entire 3 yrs and beyond as well as find potential study groups, die-hard frens and fyp mates. So far so, I only found 1 MALE fren whom I can get along quite well.
Liu Ling Ling said in '881': "Time..time will solve problems which cannot be solve currently"
