Don't anyhow Ping Ping Pom Pom

During one of the day when I was on duty, I was supposed to man the gate from 10pm to 1am. Normally for this timing, there is little human traffic and vehicles moving in and out of the base. But because 1 of the ship came back, because 1 of the ship is going to sail, because personnel of the ship decided to book out, because the NDU was conducting some exercise, there were a lot of human traffic and vehicles moving in and out of the base. Because we have a job to do; make sure those who are given clearance can come in, those who got no clearance better get lost... things became slightly complicated.

And when you think things can get better, I heard a 3 tonner approaching from a distance. I went from my post to check out the tonner, ask the driver why is he coming to the base at such late hours, the usual procedure…His reply was: He is going to fetch some personnel from the ship 96. (All ship in the navy got its own number as form of identification). I didn’t find anything suspicious at first but still I asked him to hold on because I was waiting for further order from my guard commander. Then it hit upon me like a tidal wave. Ship 96 is RSS Courageous. The one whose ship collided and split into half. The one who cost the lives of 3 others navy regulars. The one who is now currently lying in Changi waiting for repairs. Nah Beh Chow Barney I began to start wondering whether the driver was from the 3rd dimension or whether he is a terrorist. Guard commander started to interrogate him to get more information. And it turned out the driver have no idea which ship he is supposed to fetch the personnel from thus he happily give a number to smoke the whole lot of us. DAMN YOU! Throw smoke also don’t know how to smoke…He can count his lucky red ass we decided not to take any further action against him.

Moral of the story: Want smoke must clever abit.. Don’t anyhow ping ping pom pom and think you can get away with it.
