Story-Telling Session
Some things happen because they are simulated to cause a reaction. If you are hungry, you cook noodles to eat. Fire can burn well because of the presence of oxygen. Car is able to move because there is petrol for combustion. Babies are born because human like to fcuk around. Opps… Procreate. Get the idea?
I was watching the last episode of “有福” with my camp buddies in the guardhouse when a scene simulated my mind which in turn causes me to tell you this story. Inside the scene, Jialing and You Fu was walking down the street late at night. Jialing remarked to You fu that though the road is still the same, the scenery did not change much, it still manage to bring out a different feeling to her every time they took this path.
I used to stroll a lot during my poly days with One True Love. Sometimes we will walk down from Orchard Road all the way down to Plaza Singapura. Sometimes we proceed from Bugis to City Hall and then to Esplanade where we will sit beside the Merlion to talk cock and enjoy the sea breeze before we catch the bus back. Sometimes I will accompany her during her walk home from a particular MRT station if time permits. Sometimes we will stroll towards the West Coast Park to climb the spider web after having our supper at West Coast Cheese Prata Shop. We will spend most of our time talking about anything under the sun, the star and the moon while strolling. There were also quiet moments when we just walked without saying anything to each another but we were just there for each other company. But of course Singapore is a hot and humid country and so there were times we were so exhausted following the walk that we stopped by at Macdonald to enjoy a cup of ice cold lemon tea. As what Jialing had mentioned, the road is still the same, the scenery didn’t change much yet the feeling is different when we took the same old path.
There was 1 occasion when we had a really late night supper at the Glutton market situated at the car park opposite Centrepoint. It was already 2am in the morning but neither both of us wish to return home immediately after the meal so we stroll from Centrepoint to Plaza Singapura and U-Turn back all the way to Wheelock Place. There was little or no crowd at all. Traffic was down to a trickle. The street was quiet and peaceful with only a few others couple walking down the street. Though the amount of money paid for transport was a killer, somehow or rather it was a magical experience. It was the first time we walk down the Orchard Road so early/late in the day/night. We kept quiet for most of the time to enjoy the peace, breaking the silence only to chat for few moments. Nevertheless I was contented so much so that I “HOPE TO” describe that no amount of money can ever replace that moment. (Exaggerating only la...) Some of the couples were holding hand while strolling and I too had the urge to hold One True Love’s hand. But I choose the option not to take hold of her hand, I choose the option not to disrupt the moment because firstly; I seriously thought One True Love is really a nice lady. Secondly, we were only friend at that point of time so it wouldn’t be right for me at all to take advantage of her liberty. Perhaps on the hindsight, I should. After all, these term 男人不坏,女人不爱 didn’t come about by chance. Haha.Whatever the case, that was the first time I walk down Orchard Road with One True Love at 2 am in the morning, that was also be the last time I stroll with One True Love to anywhere in the world.
Till today, I still travel around Orchard Road though it is mainly out of necessity rather than strolling. (Bo Bian rite… no private transport of course must walk la!). I would have forgotten all of the above if not for Jialing’s dialogue which “Simulate” my mind to type out this story. Please do mind I’m not sad or happy while typing this post. (Today is PAY DAY lei… how to be sad you tell me?)The feeling that can only describe while typing this post… to be precise should be “Reminisces” or “回味” in Chinese.
Moral of the story: Stimulants can be good or bad depending on how you see yourself in the picture.
