不得不愛

Dear all,

I will be going for a 3 days 2 nights adventure camp for Primary 5 from this Monday onwards to Wednesday.

I think Pri 5 students will be easier to handle than Sec 1 students. Perhaps just a killer look stare will do to keep them in order when they are noisy?

But somehow I'm always reminded of the Bill Cosby show " Kids says the Darnest Thing" err..is that correct? Haha

Interacting with kids is a challenge, because I don't really like to talk much to people I'm not familiar with. With kids around, I'm forced to think of topics that interest them and interact with them constantly to keep their attention with me. Thinking back, this is actually good training and exposure for me to open a little more.

I guessed everyone has heard on this song "不得不愛" by Wilberd Pan. Actually the Sua Ku Kia me thought that the song was sung by 1) Jay Chou and 2) this is a new song until I went online and found out that it was already around since last year. The lady voice inside the song is very attractive, but such a pity I don't know who is she. Anyone have any idea at all?

Buy: Shop: Eat

Today I booked a ticket to Hong Kong thru JetStarAsia and it set my momma back by $328 . Haha. It is a last minute decision as I initially did not intend to go at all.

Yup. Therefore due to last minute decision, I will be travelling alone to Hong Kong on 05/06 and meeting them there and coming back alone to Singapore on 08/06.

Go there also dunno do what but it certainly beat staying in Singapore alone while my family and relatives goes there for a long awaited holiday.

Maybe I can go take a walk at their city, ride their MRT and get a number from a pretty Hongkie lady! Hehe

Have You Watch It?

Watched 2 movies consecutively yesterday.

1) X Men The Last Stand.

Got pretty babe in Jean Gray.

Got handsome Hunk in Wolverine

Got Plot, got Actions and it's really alot alot alot of actions, got Ending. What's more can you ask for? Go Watch it !

Rating: 4 Out of 5 Stars.

2) The Da Vinci Code

If you have read the story, then don't watch for you'll be disappointed. Reason being, it is not that easy to squeeze the entire book into a 2 hours + show so as a result, scenes in the book got cut. Some scenes in the movies are familiar so generally you would have expected to next scene to be consistent with the storybook you have read. However, this is often not the case so it left me feeling somehow shortchanged, something unfufilled because you know there is alot more contents beneath the scenes shown on screen. However, if you have not read the storybook yet, try it. It is interesting, if not a above average show.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Childrens...

Children always love watergun. which I always don't understand why.

Alright, finally this week managed to end without any major hitches.

For your info, I am currently clearing my leave and offs on and off instead of blocks so it currently leave me with some spare time to indulge in other interests.

For Tuesday and Wednesday, I was involved in the Yusof Ishak Sec team building games for Sec 1 and 2 respectively. The team building games for Sec 1 was a killer. They were like a bunch of unruly ruffians. Haha. It was so difficult to control them and I have to shout myself hoarse to make myself heard and keep them organized. I was totally shagged out at the end of the 1st event and immediately went home to sleep for the entire day.

Of course with the initial experience of the Sec 1 students, I have some reservations of the 2nd event involving the Secondary 2 students. To my pleasant surprise, they were actually well behaved and listen to instructions readily. I have fun and so did they and we both came off learning something.

While the students learnt something about teamwork and communication, I went thru a lesson myself too. I believed different occasions should call for different attitude and mentality towards the subjects and in this case, we are talking about team building and most importantly having fun. As such, with my EXTREMELY good patience and temper, I'm glad to say I did not scold anyone even when they were rowdy and noisy. Haha. A remarkable difference considering I have to change from normally "COUNSELLING" a difficult soldier, if you get what I mean...in a army to advicing the students instead.

At the same time I am also helping my friend to teach tuition to a P4 kid. Didn't know before tuition pay was so luractive. My 2 days team building which took 1/2 day each earnt me a total of $30. Yup, it may be little but I'm doing it for experience as well as passing time. I went tuition for 2 hours for a single day and earnt the similar amount. WTF!!! Haha Just a series of small steps to help achieve my dream of saving to 10 K.

However, from all the positive points gained from this week, there is a negative and frustrating news to hear from the camp. Just when the morale of the platoon is getting better and the performance is improving, 1 stupid cock just ruined it overnight by doing something of pure stupidity. Sergeant somemore! In turn, just because of his own action, the company got turn out by the OC. Apparently, all the advices and threats used on him fell on deaf ears instead. Now he reap what he sow. Perhaps a 28 days SOL will do him good and set him thinking!

This is what I hated about the army ever since I enlisted. One should be responsible for his own action but now the whole company have to be drag thru SHIT with him. Yes, if you make a genuie mistake,we are willing to go thru thick and thin together with you. But if you think you can have fun and get away with it, you can go and fuck the dog first before dying...

Moral of the story: you have to die first before you learn how to live better.

Worries..

This is a nice song by Zhang Zhi Chen - "担心"

Warm and soothing..try it, like it!

Super Human with Tears.

Sometimes, it get very scary if you see an adult cry...even when on TV. Because you know that as a adult, they seem so superhuman to have the ability to make choices and decisions, unlike a child whose every movement and action are determined by adults instead. Because when you see an adult cry, you know they are on their wits end. You know it's either they are going to suffer a horrible death or something great beyond their control is happening and for all their herculean efforts, they couldn't stop it . That's is primary why of all things, I get afraid when I see adults cry.

Another lesson I often came across or learn is when several reminders are sent out but nobody seems keen to listen. It's either they thought the person giving out the message is joking, or else it's simply the case of ignoring the message. Then suddenly one fine day, things went wrong. Heads gonna rolled and most often or not, it's those who choose earlier to ignore the message that suffered the most. Then you see them receiving punishments, you wonder if your heart should weep with them or whether they just plainly deserved what they are due. I saw this above mentioned analogy act out real time today so it left a very deep impression. It is a very valuable lesson, a very valuable experience that I will carry with me no doubt about it when I left NS.

On a lighter note, I came across a lady recently who resembles alot like Jeon Ji Hyun! Tall tall, large round round eyes with dark long flowing hair. Actually I think I saw her before during my secondary school when I took Bus 188. Because Bus 188 stopped at Swiss Cottage Secondary School first before Dunearn, there were actually alot of pretty ladies from Swiss Cottage to observe during the bus ride. She was one of them then and to think that the world is so small that I came across her again after 5 years? Yup, to tell you the truth, I have this wonderful ability to leave a very deep imprint of a person face in my memory for a very long time. No Bullshitting here. It's true. Believe it or not? It's up to you. Haha

Nature Trail

ON Vesak Day, 6 guys went on to a nature hike to the Tree Top Trail at MacRitchie Reservior. But no one told me that the route was something like Tekong Outfield, with the undaunting terrain of up and down up and down and before you knew it all of us was panting like a dog. Haha

Being young adults with lot of drive and determination, we walked non stop for 2 1/2 hrs for approx abt 12Km, stopping only for short moment to drink water before proceeding to our objective - The Tree Top Bridge and after that, the Carpark so we can go and eat our lunch.

To say the truth, the walk is not for the faint hearted. Please don't ever bring your galfriend over here for a walk unless she is very fit too. The trail is quite interesting for runners though because it is a very challenging terrain to run.

Perhaps we completed the trail too fast, I didnt quite find the trail interesting because everything was in a zoom...Haha It is done to severly test your stamina and leg muscle. Wear proper shoes to walk for if not you will immediately feel your heel hurting like hell when you switch over from walking on soil to concrete path at the end of the trail.

Guys btw, the photos are inside the Flickr. Click onto the Icon to view it.

Good Bye

Good Bye to our Legendary Midfield General of Manchester United:

Roy Keane (1993-2006)

Who is big enough to fill your boots after you left?

Once a Red Devils, Always a Red Devils.

Pain...Pain

If you have watch "Daisy" the movie, you would have observed that the lead lady could not talk after she suffered from shock in a shoot-out.

Well, I had similar experience as her after my wisdom tooth was plucked out by the dental surgeon.

I think the anaesthetic was not sufficient enough because I almost jump up in pain half way throughout the operation.

It was a very very painful experience lol. Dammit.

And for the rest of the day, I couldn't even open my mouth to talk.

With 2 more wisdom teeth to go, I am seriously considering whether to leave them alone because they are growing up straight, unlike the operated on one.

Super Band !

5 hits out of 7...as always the case. Haha

But I can only achieve such results if I didn't bet.

As always the case, if I did bet at all, the team I'm betting to win will most often lose...dunno y.Dammit.

The Superband on Channel U really did not disappoint at all..esp the band QI:NOBE who sang "Huo Yan Jia".

How to not to starr at the the TV screen in AWE when one of the singer wore a chinese opera singer costume and sang " HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH" in his mock false vocal ( "Jia Ying" ) and kept the crowd roaring on with approval.

Even me the hardcore cynical applauded at the end of the performance for their BRILLiANT effort.

My father remarked how come got one God Of Fortune standing in the middle of the stage when the band is singing lol..Haha

The trouble with Love

Sometimes I wonder to myself where did the hopeless romantic freak in me come from?

It must have started from the moment I watched " My Sassy Girl ". It must have left such deep impression onto me that I felt a person life would have live in vain if he/she is unable to experience such deep passionate relationship purely base on love for even once in his/her lifetime...be it the ending is a sad or happy one.

But to even start on that ideal, one must first find the lady he must be willing to give up everything for. And most often, the task is easier said than done and human will rather settle for 2nd/3rd/4th and on best than to continue in their futile search for the right one.

People might find this thinking to be childish and unrealistic. Afterall this is a materialistic world where money make the world goes round and most often form the basis/foundation of success stories. I have to fully agreed that those who have the largest amount of money in their pocket is King and therefore turned to movie screen instead to indulge in my little own belief/fantasy.

Watch how Jeon Ji Hyun tug at your heartstring in the movies she acted in and you will understand why.

Relationship that started at a young age are unrealistic and often contain unreal expectations. You cannot expect them to last but not to say they are useless either for they can contain valuable lessons and experiences you need to carry forward in life.

I ran out of topics to continue liao. Haha. The above content must be the after effect of watching too much movie of same related theme (Il Mare, Daisy, Windstruck) for the past few weeks.

Btw: welcome back Darren. Be sure to go after Marcus when you see him because he kept cursing you to suffer and die in Brunei while you are away lol.

Election is over.

Election is over.

Mr Chiam See Tong is really chaim see tong (" bear till the last moment" aka "Nair See Tong" ). The residents of Potong Pasir and Hougang also deserved our respect to follow their heart instead of opting for carrots dangle by senior politician. Hey, they are not rabbits ok...

The lesson learnt: The people that make up the nation is more powerful than the party who run the nation.

What is next to look forward to?

Of course it's World Cup 2006! Since England is finish this time, go for Dutch. Go Netherland Go!

Tonight match prediction:

Arsenal VS Wigan : Arsenal Win

Aston Villa VS Sunderland : Draw

Blackburn Rovers VS Manchester City : Blackburn Win

Bolton Wanderers VS Birmingham City : Bolton Wanderers Win

Everton VS West Brom : Everton Win

Manchester United VS Charlton: Manchester United Win

Portsmouth VS Liverpool: Liverpool Win

Bet at your own risk.

I think Superband on Channel U is getting more and more watchable.

What is this world coming to?

Just now while I was watching the news regarding the election, I shook my head in disbelief when I saw Mr Gan Kim Yong, the candidate that represent PAP to contest with Mr Steve Chia to serve the resident of Chua Chu Kang.

Before I say anything, let me remind you Mr Gan Kim Yong appointment in the Singapore government : Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Manpower

So why the hell is he, together with his group of volunteers scrubbing the floor of the void deck when these job is normally done by the contract worker hired from overseas???

And the drawing point is, the Blangalesh worker was spreading the cleaning powder across the floor while the minister and his volunteers fervously scrubbed it.

Minister for Manpower and Contract Workers. See the link? It is all about jobs. Haha

And the immediate thoughts that came into mind: Who is really the Wayang Party?

Come on la...if you want to win the supporter vote, I'm sure there is 1001 better method to do so rather than cleaning and scrubbing the floor. What purposes does it serve? Does your appointment really require you to do so?

Actually I am quite alright with just reading the daily updates about the election issue. I have no wish to post any election article on my blog at all but after viewing the cleaning episode, this is the straw that broke the camel back.

Singaporean is not that stupid lol...

Something about your Teeth

Yesterday I visited the National Dental Centre for a consultion session regarding my wisdom tooth.

The verdict is out: I have to remove the remaining 3/4 of my wisdom tooth, which will leave me in future with no wisdom tooth to speak of and certainty no more wisdom tooth left.

There will be 2 operations in total, the first one will be on next week 9th May. Pretty fast huh but no choice if I want to get this done free because I am ORDing in July.

And so while the doctor was explaining to me the procedure, he also mentioned about what local anaesthetic blah blah carry risk blah blah later cannot wake up blah blah and ask so which one do I prefer blah blah...

So I chose injection method lei..how ar? painful anot?

IL Mare

Recently, I spent also $44 bucks on a poster. Well sort of...because that also include 1 OST soundtrack as well as 2 VCDs.

Thinking back, it was kinda of ironic because I bought the OST to get the poster, only to know after payment that the shop has ran out of the poster. With eyes wide stunned, the lady could only suggest I exchange the OST for another products. Search I did, and finally came out with 2 VCDs, mainly "Il Mare" and "Windstruck". I have watched both the show long way back but my failing memory failed to keep up.

So this post is actually a review of "Il Mare" I watched yesterday. Sometimes it's strange to know this is the second time viewing the movie, the plot is roughly recognised yet the feeling it gives after watching the show is so entirely different from the first time.

The movie is beautiful because it starred Jeon Ji Hyun. Haha. Well beside that, the plot is also good. The director managed to pull off a great movie because it involved in 2 person living in totally different timeframe. The past (1997)and the present (2000). So while you might have expected some overlapses or errors in those movie of same gender that might have defied common logic, thankfully in this movie everything managed to fuse seamlessly together that you are forgiven if you thought they are living in the same period of time (2000).

And the cuplrit that enables both the characters to communicate with each other and in turn developed feelings is actually the Mailbox that is just located outside Il Mare.

Btw, Il Mare is the name of a very nice looking house facing the sea which I wish I can stay when I am old, near balding and die peacefully.

There are 2 endings for the viewer to choose from. One is a tradegy which the male lead died in the end because of a car incident. The other is joy when he received the warning in advance, managed to avoid the accident and in turn appeared in front of bewildered the female lead in (2000) wondering who is he,where he is standing in front of her yet felt so strangly familiar.

The above is only my amatuerish attempt to review the movie. For a more professional and comprehensive review, see this link: http://www.gotterdammerung.org/film/reviews/i/il-mare.html

Warning: this show is not suitable for ladies whose emotions tend to swing easily and end up crying at the end of the show.

So if you wish to view what I find to be an enjoyable movie, you can rent from me the orginal VCD at $1 per day.Haha
