Micheal Phelps achieved what he came for. 8 out of 8 golds and in turn rewrote the Olympic history record book at the age of 23. He created a legacy with his herculean effort and it remain to be seen how long the record can remain unbroken before the next set of challengers are deemed strong enough to create another set of legacy.
And as always no one will know how it will go on from here. After spending your entire life chasing down the goal and actually achieving them...what's next? It take another set of even greater challenges to prepare yourself to train hard and aim for. 4 years is a very long time and I'm not sure whether we are going to see Micheal Phelps again at the 2012 London Olympic again
But no one can take away from what he achieved in Beijing. 7 WR. 8 gold medals.
In fact he has also become the greatest Olympian of all. 14 gold medals in total between 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing.

To paraphrase what he said:
When you have an Olympic Gold medal, it stays with you forever. You're always an Olympic gold medalist. It's amazing and it definitely never gets old."

Thank You.. Phelps for all the wonderful excitement and memories for the past 9 days. Thank You.

Somehow no matter how I see it, the swimming ladies at the podium always look so radiant and beautiful. I guessed the reason being so is because they are truly filled with joy and happiness and this in turn bring out a special glow only reserved for those who truly deserved it. Perhaps this is the reason why they always says the bride is always the most beautiful on her wedding day.
The lady is Kristy Coventry and she is from Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is not exactly a nice country to be at now with its political turmoil but she represented her country at the Olympic games, got 2 silver medal before finally clinching her gold medal for this game.
And she is truly beautiful at the winner podium..just like so many others before her who stood along filling up with joy glancing at the gold medal around their neck.
