Today I spent 3 hours clearing my French presentation next week 2 hours clearing my business law tutorial and read up and by the end of it I was wasted..

and I still have 2 more accounting read up to complete before calling a day.

and it's 1am now..

perhaps I shouldn't have blog now

not much of news nowadays. Life is quite humane. I'm gonna visit my tutee ( is there such a word?) on Monday with a banana pizza..now that he had completed his primary 3 exams. He might or might not be going back to Korea...but I think he is happy that he found a teacher whose mental capacity for jokes and fun can rival of his.

I think I must take a photo with him soon, develop it and give it to him as a memento so that next time if he have a girlfriend or children he can show and tell them: ' This is the teacher whom made me spill my drinks whenever I started drinking water because he will purposely rubbed his stomach...or this is the teacher who will grab my neck and gimme bone crunching massages whenever I am naughty or refuse to pay attention during lesson.

The mention of photos also reminded me of those pictures there were taken during the tioman trip, poly bbq, poly forum, army. I looked at the photos and couldn't helping thinking how each of us have changed in a certain way in term of appearance. It's like we have AGED quite a lot and gone are 'the little kid' face. Now where's the pill of elixir? I am scared of aging! I wanna live forever~

But it was fun flipping over the photo book. Looking back, I had a wonderful time when I was between 17-20. Thank god everything goes quite smoothly during the age where teenagers are likely to rebel and do stupid actions/stuffs.

If kids are clever and sensible, they are pretty adorable. If kids are naughty& rebellious, they are like devils. All in all, having a kid also mean a life term commitment as well..so moral of the story: don't have a kid if you cannot afford that commitment.

I was revising as usual with the radio tuning to yes933 in the background playing very softly..

when a familiar but long-forgotten tune came on air...

对你爱爱爱不完; 我可以天天月月年年到永远
so we love love love tonight...

This song '对你爱不完' was so damn popular when I was in primary school..maybe around p2 or p3.

I like Aaron Kwok and collected his idol cards during that period of adolescent because:

He is the most handsome among the 4 heavenly king and I like his centre parting hairstyle

I'm scared I can't sleep tonite again if these tune '对你爱爱爱不完; 我可以天天月月年年到永远' keep repeating over and over my head again.

Tml I have french quiz. Since S/Ued = half hearted effort to take quiz.

Not to say I hate french, I think I did gained something out of it but my level is simply not up to the mark . I simply didnt put in enough effort to reach the satisfactory stage and language subject is something that take up a lot of time which I simply do not have.

I think I wasted 4 hours of my time without really knowing why...

even though I was doing the mind map for my business law and tutorial.

But I bloody took 4 hours to do it.

This afternoon is just too noisy, too hectic , too much activities in the neighborhood, in the house , in fact EVERYWHERE around CCK BLK 517 .

I seriously think I am living in a zoo. DAMN.

I couldn't slept yesterday night...

perhaps stole a wink for at most 2 hours

because my mind was in a hyper active mode thinking about a lot of really useless stuff.

It don't help as well when tune of Hermes house band- 'can't take my eyes off you' kept repeating over and over in my head as well.

End of the year period is coming. It's already nearing the end October and in a flash of the eye December - the month of festive season is actually around the corner.

I love December. Sound like a month full of fun, partying ( which perhaps explain the reason of the song and also marked the closure of the year, to look back of what good/bad you've done etc..but before that I guessed most of us will have to spend sleepless night in November to scrap thru the exam.

nevertheless, I did a you tube search of hermes house band and found out they are really fantastic in term of partying the crowd. I could feel their energy and enthusiasm even by watching the video. As many of you must have heard before can't take my eyes off you, how about this song : 'Que Sara Sara'

Warning: This song might induce you to proceed on to Zouk to shake your bon bon during the weekend so don't blame me if you really do when you have other more impt stuff to complete.

Yup, that's all. I've just printed out my past year exam paper and it's time to give all out once the last quiz for this semester which is Accounting is over.

funny picture found inside my computer..

recently I've been feeling quite lethargic...I have great difficulty climbing out of my bed every morning..preferring to lie on it instead because its so comfortable. I must think of a solution to cure this ailment sooner for there are not much time to be waste, esp when it's getting closer and closer to exam..haha

I discovered I've been spending a fair amount of time studying..but somehow come quiz time my mind goes blank or I've difficulty answering the question. It's that type of feeling when you know you put in your best effort but the grade don't really reflect on that and the defeating blow is when your friend put in half your effort and scored better than you instead. This is the moment to realize that the age old wisdom hardworking equal to success is not exactly that true anymore.

I've know long ago that part of the reason is my understanding of concept is not very strong. I managed to get thru most of the time by putting in additional efforts than others to reach the same level as them...which is not exactly beneficial to me in the long term either. I think I understood the rationale behind tertiary education which is to re-define the train of thought and grasp fundamental concept quickly, which of course will come in handy when we are in the working society. I have been trying to tweak around my studying method and hopefully I will be able to find my own path of success.

end of story
it's late. time to sleep. nitex

I was rumbling thru my cupboards moment ago and came upon a pack of festive greeting cards which I remembered but did not touch it for a very long time.

For sentimental reasons, I took out the content and opened up each card to take a look. There were some from primary school, majority from secondary school and some from poly days.

After reading the cards, I felt very heart-warming but slightly sad at the same time. Heart-warming as in the remembrance of my nick-name in my secondary school Xi-Gua which actually stand for watermelon. In fact, most of my frens in Secondary school identified me as Xi-Gua rather than Alex. I think I was also quite loud-mouth and a smooth liking for suan-ing people, as evident in the comments they left in the cards. There were also a couple of cards whose content I might have already forget but kindly bring me back to past such as my poly CCA 'spac2go' as well as a few other events.

I felt slightly sad because I lost contacts with a couple of my primary and secondary school frens. I wondered where are they now, and how have they been all these years..especially those primary school frens because I remembered we have lots of fun being together at the tender age of 11-12.

Perhaps in the digital age, there are some things which are truly some things that are irreplaceable such as festive card. No wonder they are still surviving after all these years.

Time flies soooo fassttttt...

Couldn't believe I have not updated my blog for 5 consecutive days straight!

But this week schedule was quite packed and its gonna be the same for next week with 2 quizzes on Monday and Friday. On hindsight, it is actually a form of revision as well since exam is in a month time so it's not too bad.

Speaking abt hindsight, came across a paragraph written on it and found it to be quite meaningful.

' what keeps us going now, is not knowing what we would've known if we'd known. and hoping that whatever lies beyond in the unknown, turns out the way we want it to.'

Monday were spent on revision for Tues accounting term test. Did alright for the test in my opinion but made a couple of silly mistakes. No, I don't think I'm gonna fail so it's still pretty OK. Wed Thur, Fri were spent on 2 projects due this Sunday and next Monday as well as tuition-ing for 3 consecutive days straight.

But today was e HIGHLIGHT for the week even though I had a pretty long day because ...

张震岳 came to NTU for his 张震岳-OK promotional events. And he totally rocks the audience in LKC theatre. There were FULL ATTENDANCE and well, I truly enjoyed myself during the short but highly entertaining concert. Perhaps it can be considered as my the best form of reward for myself this busy week.

See...No Jokes...FULL HOUSE and people were actually STANDING up and clapping along while he brought us some of his ever oldies e.g. 干妹妹 and 分手吧 together with some of the songs from his new album. There were also a short interaction session about his latest album where he brought the house down with his witty and comical reply. He ended the campus concert with a fitting '再见' before returning to the stage due to our incessant, determined and loud requests for an ENCORE!!!! and what else to expect from him for his last song for the night except for 愛我別走?

Now that the fun is over..come tomorrow it's time and total devotion to the preparation for war! It's time to relish the period of No Day; No Night again of revision, mugging and more mugging till 26th Nov.. Bye Bye World~

Heard this song over 93.3FM

我真的受伤了

Nice duet by Jacky Cheung and the lady. I think she is called '王菀之'
Actually the song is quite smoothing and relaxing. I like.

In case you are wondering why I recently kept posting youtube video on songs, it's because I always switch on to 933FM while revising so occasionally when I hear a really nice song, I will youtube it immediately and watched the MTV of the song.

Talking about yesterday Ministerial Forum, MM Lee still retain his sharp wits and retort judging from the way he answered the many questions posed by 'strangely' foreigners in NTU.

Foreigners seem to see MM Lee in a different light, with quite a couple mentioning it is his/her honor to be speaking to our esteemed leader etc and asking questions that hold close of their heart. However, MM Lee kept posing questions about where they came from and where did they learn their English followed by 'CONGRATULATIONS! you speak good English.' Perhaps I might be too sensitive but I couldn't help but sniff a thin veil of cynicism in his questioning and replies but he did answer the questions well enough so they should have no complain.

I am not entirely satisfied regarding the Q&A session because the questions (asked by the foreigners who strangely were selected by the moderator quite often) were essentially too diversified and more of the global issue rather than issue that are close to our heart. e.g. CPF rates change, increment of retirement ages, gay rights ( he did touch on that a little), 4th University in Singapore.

However there were some interesting questions enough e.g. what will MM Lee study in NTU if suppose he could turn back time and choose his field of study which he replied: Economics, Mathematics or Psychology. No more lawyer for him even though the salary earn good pay but it do not bring him enough satisfactions.

Overall, I think MM Lee is still able to offer sound advices on the global political and economics issue but he seems to have problems grappling with the fast pace of technological advances and arty farty issues..which is pretty reasonable for his age. The things he touched on offered another perspectives on the current 'Economic' boom/ gloom the world is encountering. His mind is clear, his wits is sharp and he is still able to shoot you up down left right easily if you try something funny.

As seen from channelnewsasia.com
-Famous Tip Top Curry Puffs owner jailed for tax evasion
-Nanyang Business School among the top three in Asia

When I decided to change course last year, 1 of the point I don't really like about engineering is the co-relation to our daily happening in life. While viewing the articles above, wave of thoughts hit me as I applied what I learn in NBS regarding accounting stuffs into the 1st article. Though my accounting skill is only marginal at best, this is what I mean by learning and applying in our daily life. And this is what I really like.

NBS- Nanyang Business School (NBS) is now ranked 72nd in the world, up five notches from last year, according to the latest ranking order released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

The ranking also reaffirms that the school, at the Nanyang Technological University, is among the top three in Asia.

Nice~

while reading this article on BBC last week, I came across this paragraph:

Burma's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has greeted Buddhist monks protesting against the military junta.
Apparently unable to hold her tears, Aung San Suu Kyi came out of the house she has been detained in since 2003 as the monks were let through a roadblock.

I tried searching for the picture but to no avail. Imagine what a powerful message it will convey to the rest of the world if someone actually managed to capture the image. To be remember, and not forgotten when you are captured in isolation for 11 of the past 18 years. It's that sort of powerful, raw and emotional feelings and supports from esteem members of societies ( the monks ) that can break even the iron-will heart.

This post is very long. I think I talk more about other stuffs tomorrow.

We 'Heart' Accounting! Ya rite.....

Today I specially cancel by tuition and stay back in school...

to listen to our dear esteemed leader 'Mr Lee Kwan Yew' address us on the topic 'Singapore in the 21st century'

Due to time constraint, I will touch on more about the 'Ministerial Forum 07' tomorrow instead.

I'm fine basically though sometimes I feel a little
lethargic/fatigued because I've running around occupying my time slot with something every minutes.

Friday is here again. I like Friday the most though this weekend is burnt again because there is a mid term test on accounting next Tue. Guess I need to reward myself someday next week before embarking on the journey for the final exam preparation.

Chang Chen Yue is coming to NTU. Can't wait for next week to hear him perform LIVE!
