Unfortunately this post came a little too late because I was out the whole day yesterday with markie and sy and therefore unable to type this post.
2 years ago on this date 21 July 2004, I have trouble sleeping because I am scared...sacred to enter into the service. Scared of what the next 2 years of my life will turn out to be. Scared of whether people around me will gradually disappear from my radar and leave me alone. I guessed this is what most of the guys will feel on the night before they serve their NS.
2 years later on this date 21 July 2006, I am once again in front of the same old computer unable to sleep. In fact, I have difficulty sleeping for the past few nights for reasons which I could not comprehended. I'm not very sure whether I am feeling sentimental about the whole army stuffs or am I just too excited about seeing my pink IC back again.
It is always the case which during those tough period you will always rant and bitch about your work, the unjust punishment or the screw up guy/commander and hope that you'll be able to leave behind everything at once and go away. However once the whole thing is over,you will feel nostaglic about those buddies who went thru those times with you. I am fortunate to be able to experience 2 batches during my time in TNB, mainly the batch from Ruide, Tokie, Xiaojian, Gary, Sara, Ah Chua, Jermaine...And the batch that came right after they almost ORD - Wenxing, Kelvin, Jeow, Lincoln, Yilun, Terence and many more.
I guessed I will miss them as well as the afternoon tea sessions where we always sit around at the canteen to talk cock.
Anyway, I hope to catch my CSM tomorrow in the camp. Then I will tried to make him scold me 1 last time before I tell him: "ORD LOH!" Hahaha
I saw this advertisment nokia on Jy friendster and was awed by whoever directed this commercial because it was so brilliantly shot. We had orginally wanted to recreate a photo collage roughly about the same as the commercial at the bowling centre except the theme this time is our ORD but for whosoever reason we didn't do so and it's such a pity.
Lesson learnt from yesterday: Never take a knife, point backwards and stab yourself in the chest. So stupid of me to repeat the mistakes..Haha
there is this young cat not a kitten anymore but still a young cat that is roaming outside my house nowaday. The cat is a female, very affectionate, and it will curl around your leg every now and then to show its love for you..or perhaps its love for the food you are holding. But anyway, my parents don't rear animals so I am posting some pics of the cat. If you like it, tell me and I send it to your house FOC provided you are willing to rear it.
As a additional bonus, I think the cat is a lucky cat because my mother won some small money buying 4D after the cat appeared outside our house a few days ago.
I finally completed my NYAA report today. Hopefully it is able to be submitted for approval and we can get the award or else it's really a waste of efforts typing and recollecting stuffs that happen 2 years ago.
As I did have some time to spare today, I decided to go back to camp to settle my clearance stuff for my ORD. What I did not expect is 1 bloody new bird who don't know who am I or purposely don't wish to know ( anyway I never seen him before and that's why he is categorize as a new bird) answered me back in a very rude manner when I ask him to place his rifles and mg properly before he get into trouble with my XO. KNNBCCB, no big no small siah...I almost want to shoot him back but decided against it as firstly he is not from my platoon secondly, he placed the mg properly into place after I repeated my orders thirdly I am gonna ORD soon so the less trouble the better.
ARgggg. Not to worry not to worry wait till my CSM come back on the day I Ord and they will suddenly wake up from their fucking ideas. La La land no more huh...Those idiots need die first before they know how to do stuffs properly. Not to say I'm sacaristic but I also went thru the same lesson when CSM was around so they should have their turn soon.
And came a surprise invitation by my platoon to go for a KTV cum drinking session at the Chevrons. What really shocked me was the attendance. Almost the entire plt 1 went even though it is a weekday and they need to report to camp on Fri morning 8am. We make merry while singing KTV and the highlight of the session was when everyone joined together and raise their voice to the tunes of WAKIN/Emil Chau " Friends". When the song end, everyone grabbed a mug and YAM SENG! My god, I guessed everyone was so high at that point of time that no one could have beaten us down.
I guessed this is what NS is all about. Coming together from all walks of life with a common purpose to perform your national duty properly while making great friends in the process. It is often a choice whether one can choose to play bastard or take care of your men as a commander, or one can play bastard and stab one another else cooperate with your commander as a man. I'm glad my platoon is often the latter. I have often seen how one platoon can change dramatically in term of performance due to the passing down of leadership roles and I'm satisfied to say I have done my role and the one who took over me is doing his.
I counted myself lucky during my entire NS period that people I have encountered are of good personality. NS has enable me to learn a lot of leadership skills. I'm glad the efforts I put in managed to reap some rewards at the end of the day.
As the saying goes: " all good things come to an end one day ". As the days loomed nearer and nearer to my ORD; life still have to move on eventually after 2 years. Hope we can manage to catch up with each other during our reservists day.

Yeah right, they are really entertaining with their diving, cheating, simulations during their matches. Hahaha. So much so it caught up with them that they got blacklisted among the referees during the later part of the World Cup.
My viewing of World Cup Final was viewed at Arjun house with the company of great friends. Italy didn't really deserved to win with their very defensive stance but I don''t really support France and afterall France won it in 98 so Italy would be just as fine.
Germany rightly deserved to win the 3rd place of the World Cup. Their style of football is so entertaining, especially when you see Philip Lahm revelling in his winger role running up and down the left side of the pitch. Actually I didn't knew I won a bet with Singapore Pools on Gemrany vs Portugal match until the World Cup ended and I got a pleasant surprise instead.
I hope Manchester United is able to hire Marcello Lippi and Gattuso after the World Cup lol.
I been trying to update the blog but when it seem like time, I am forever with busy with this and that. It seems ironical that I may be busy while clearing leave but at least time can and will pass faster instead.
At least tonight is the last match of the World Cup. No more late night staying after this. No more moment of madness and hair pulling over diving, last minute goals and unfair referees. I do hope Italy will win. They deserve it.
A cat ran into my house today and my parents went wild overturning the house topsy turvey because my mother is afraid of the cat. No one know when the cat came into the house until my mother saw the cat starring at her in the kitchen. All these coming from a person who live in the kampongwhen she was young. Haha wtf..Such a pity the color of the cat is not very pretty ( Black and white )or else I might considered adopting it instead.

Germany really shot themselves in their own foot with their wasteful finishing. I mean even lady luck was with them allowing the Italian to hit the woodwork twice with the keeper beaten in extra time. I guessed lady luck in the end decided to turn against them instead.A goal before 2 mins to penalties. What a stunner! Well, my prediction is wrong for this time. Hopefully I get it right for France.

England got crashed out of the World Cup because simply they are screw up. During the early stages in the tournament, they kept saying they got through without playing well so not to worry not to worry, we will get it right. Yaya I hope you get it right by booking your air ticket back to En ger Land. What's even more comical is that it is Steve the assistant coach to keep shouting and motivating at the England player instead of Erickson. Look at the Portugal bench and you can see Scolari shouting and shouting to urge his players on and it make me wonder whether he will get sore throat after the match end?
But Portugal itself is not exactly Saint either.Portugal kept defending even with 1 man advantage and it made me very very angry for long period of time because it is so boring and frustrating to keep passing and passing instead of crossing the ball in with so many players waiting to head it so I will stick with France to win them the next round.
Anyway, I think Zidane is possessed. Suddenly he is playing so brilliantly at the moment. Once the ball is at his feet, there is no way to snatch it from him unless he pass the ball. Looking at the way he handled the Brazil defence with his simple yet awesome way of passing, you have to give respect for the Ah Pek team k.
My heart ached a little for Brazil to go out of the tournament but that's life. Cafu is over the hill and he was constantly exposed by the flank but he is still playing. KaKa did not perform but Robinho came out only at the 70 mins to sub him. Ronaldo is so lazy to run for the ball but Adriano is playing behind him instead of the striker role. Went to Chijmes yesterday to catch the Germany vs Argentine match and what a nervous experience did I have. You might be forgiven if you thought you are in Germany, with all the Ang Mo rooting for Germany and me included. The atmosphere was very lively and wild but it was very crowded and luckily for us, our saviour for the day Sy managed to get us into a private event to watch the match more comfortably as well as treat us to a couple of free drinks.Haha Too bad the Italy match is at 3am or else who knows we might be able to spot a couple of italian babes too~ There was never a doubt Germany is going to win and that tell you how much is the power of home ground! Now that Germany has undergo their baptism of fire, I think they can go all the way to the Finals liao.
