I went for a financial literacy talk introduced by my friends in the evening yesterday. Played the game Cash Flow 101 designed by Robert Kiyosaki. In case you don't know this person, he is the author of a very popular book 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'. I guessed most of the people who studied business should have either heard of this board game or played on it before and today was my first time playing the game.

After playing the board game for an hour, I felt the pull and challenges of the game. The difficulties of pulling yourself away from the rat race and making 'passive income' - to make your existing money work for you harder. The difference between assets and liabilities and stuffs like that.

What actually intrigued me most was the clip of Mr Kiyosaki addressing the students of the famous China #1 University - Tsing Hua University. He is able to make complex economics stuffs sound simple to common people of the street. He do not crack jokes to attract people attention but people listened attentively to his talk because his presentation using markers pens on pieces of A3 white paper make so damn good sense about each individual guide to financial freedom. And the most important thing he touch on is - the change of mindset. Those who have a' rich' mindset will definitely get rich and those who have a poor mindset will always remain poor, even though they might have a pile of cash to began with in the first place.

After the game session, I had the good fortune sit down with a lady who willingly talk about her life and working experience together with my former army PC. Somehow or rather after listening to her stuffs, things began to link up and I'm able to understand the reasons behind the advices that were given to me by the NTU Biz professor when I went for my NTU biz interview last month.

Once again, it all boil down to mindset and suddenly I'm doubting myself whether by being a 'PRACTICAL' person can actually help me to achieve my dreams in the first place. I feel that I'm unknowingly placing a limit over myself and not daring enough to DREAM. If it's so, then I will definitely need a radical change in mindset as well, for the old mindset which I've been applying in my daily life and clinging onto for so long is certainty not applicable anymore.
.
Strange as it sounds, the trip to Aussie has once again open up my train of thought into overdrive in regard to the many different aspects of my life.

It might be the right time to do some soul searching...
