It's the season to be jolly lalalalalalala
but the recent updates of the dragon boaters make people real sad. If you have read the news, they have dedicated almost daily 2 whole pages on the incidents daily and I saw the obituaries on 1 edition and damn, my whole spirit went into downcast looking at their picture. I understand that the council is looking into an inquiry regarding the incident and perhaps give a answer to the family members on what happened that actual day but I couldn't help thinking what's the point. Those people who were there in the water should have already told the grieving family members the actual truth..I don't think there is a need to tell the entire Singaporean the truth at all because this is not a charity CEO or accounting discrepancy gone wrong case so who's there to account for except for the people directly involved in the incident and the closely related families member. It cannot and will not bring them back.
I think their cortège's will be leaving today. It's always a tragedy when the opposite happens- white hair people sending black hair people off to their final journey and of course the final farewell.
I watched ROCKY BALBOA yesterday night. For those who are not familiar with the Rocky series, go search on Wiki. It's pretty popular in the 1970s starring Sylvester Stallone except for this time round Rocky have retired, he is old but still itching for 1 last fight, to get rid of the beast in him after his wife died of illness. The movie was alright, I think guys will like the movie more. Sylvester Stallone looked weird at first sight..I think he ate too much stuffs to build up his mass but the way he speaks; It's something of a person who been there, done that. Giving little wisdom here and there, trying to help in whatever way he could to people around him...until he announced his comeback for 1 last fight with the undisputed champion.
Watch him trained, hear the familiar Rocky tune in the background and you can't help feeling excited for him, how the ending will turn out. Will he defeat the young snob with his many limitations due to old age, or will he die out there on the ring itself? Everyone loves the underdogs, everyone always like a surprise in the end. If you want to know who won, look up at wiki yourself then ..Haha
But the show taught us something. There was this part when Rocky son berated his father for coming out of retirement, for exposing his son of those unwanted attentions again after trying so long to come out of his father BIG shadow..and you thought Rocky was defeated by his own son abolishing, until he turned back and delivered a counter punch to his son whining..here goes the inspiring speech:
"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!"
This speech is awesome. I copied in down in my personal folder..until I saw another similar stuff I copied way long ago which has the same meaning as Rocky.
People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in the world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them.

Okk...so many speech so many quotes. Typed a lot for today. End of Story.

Exam is over! yeah..can officially have a break after 4 long months of hard work.
as often said the last hurdle is always the hardest to cross and it really meant so yesterday because I had 2 papers back to back and the night before the papers I had insomnia!
Oh god, please don't let this happen again
Couldn't sleep for the hell even though I was damn freaking tired and curse that stupid bird for sounding out at 4am in the morning. Anyway for all the grouses and complaints, it's over and we all can look forward to Christmas and a Happy New Year~

Last december is quite different for me compared to this year.Last december wasn't quite as jovial with heavy thoughts on my mind regarding my studies. I went on a holiday to Malaysia with my family and with hindsight I'll be back again to the same hotel: Marriot at Putra Jaya again this year...What the heck, looking again at the same old big christmas tree, eating the same stuff for reason I couldn't understand but at least this year my older cousin is joining us so at least there is someone around the same age to relate to. I'll be gathering books to read along the bus journey...after all the only books I've been reading these 4 months is TEXTBOOKS and I really would like to read more..starting from....HARRY POTTER and the Deathly Hallows today!
There is a recent news of the drowning incidents in Cambodia. It's really quite tragic every time I read the newspaper and pictures of these 5 able young man flashed across the page. They are so young, so fit, so capable of achieving so many more in life but they have passed on in a foreign land, in the foreign water, doing the stuffs they loved.Mother Nature is not to be trifled with and human after all is infallible.
Watch your back; Stay safe; Enjoy life.

every year without fail near the end of the year (I watched it especially earlier this year after my acct papers thou), I will watch the repeat of 'Love Actually' on my lappie, and every year without fail as for me personally, I will inevitably learn something from the show. Somehow or rather, it seems to mark the end of the year as I often said, a season to joy and wonder after a year of hard work.So for those of you who have not catch this show before, beg, steal or borrow because I can guarantee you will leave the show a happy person who might began to start to believe a little bit more in love ,in fact all types of love actually~

It's Sunday today.
I have 2 papers tomorrow on Monday.
1 @ 9am. The other one @ 1pm.
I have yet to really understand the last chapter of the 1st papers while I have grossly underestimated the amount of knowledge required for the second.
And I asked myself what the hell am I been doing for the past 1 month studying in school everyday.
In fact, it have been a pretty long month, or rather a pretty long 4 months. Ever since school started, I think the effort that I put in is more than what I did for the earlier semester during 2006, but at least this time round I am still able to see some results.
Which led to my sister asking whether I can get into Dean List for this semester...
which I also coolly replied..NO..hahaha and she then said for what the hell I studied so much then?
There is a lot of stuffs to be done during the holidays. Many many meetups, FOC stuffs, Chalets, Msia trip that thinking of it alone make me feel tired. I just want to wake at 12 noon everyday, laze around, watch movies and sleep at 3am every night.
But it is not meant to be because right after the exam my friends and I have got to prepare for the standchart marathon. I looked at the route on the official website, it's something like a movable point that guide you thru the entire route and I started wondering how come the point is moving for so long and it have yet to reach the finish line.
I think this holiday is gonna be a busy + tiring but fulfilling + fun-filled as well.
btw..IT'S 4 MORE WEEKS TO CHrisTMAS!

I came across a short clip recently..
there was this girl who faced some objections from her bf from taking part in a youth variety show because of some unknown reasons but..
she reckons that if she don't take part now 10 years down the road she will not have the opportunity to take part again. I don't know but it's the way she sound in that clip that left a deep impression on me...
alrite I admit she is quite pretty as well but that's beside the point.
Perhaps next time if we are really in a dilemma between the devil and the deep blue sea wondering whether to attempt something ahead of us and yet feeling unsure about it.
then we can ask ourselves this question.
Can I do this again 10 years down the road?
If your answer is no
then you should know what to do by then..
so old liao..no need people teach you liao rite hahaha

Times flies..it's Monday today and I had my acct papers. Not too bad I must say..though I almost had a brain freeze when the paper is also to start. It was almost of a repeat of the nightmare during my first sem 1 paper which I think remembered- CIRCUIT ANALYSIS!
But this time, I calmed myself down and instead focus on the pretty babe just ahead of the row in front of me...nahh just kidding Hahaha
Anyway, no such luck for the previous post. Fate is not kind enough. Did not get to see the gal for the 2nd time.
I will be having my next paper on Monday- Finance Management follow by Biz Law. It's a little boring because I already did my preparations long long ago..including 6 sets of past year paper for Finance but for the hell I think if I were to go thru the paper ago I will forget everything. Talk about selective short term memory indeed.
Standard Chart is around the corner. I think it's less than 2 weeks and I still have not complete 10km yet...talk about 21 Km on the actual day. I'm going to die a horrible death.
Talking about work, somehow I got a feeling the more I studied the more tertiary education is trying to gear you to become a salaried worker. Yeah..I'm starting to have that feeling that it hinder you from a little bit bigger and higher..from all those books, assignments and projects. Not to say they are entirely useless but they are not that useful either in the next 10 years as well.
I got a secret ambition while looking at the maritime prospect to become a ship broker. I love the sea, I love the ocean but I don't like tsunami though yh said it is my occuptional sickness that was borne previously from doing too much duty at Tuas Naval Base.
Nice tune.

today while on the way home @ 11pm in school,
I saw a girl with long curls, green crumpler bag on the bus 179.
Didnt really take notice of her as she was sitting in front of me.
until we board the train and she was sitting opposite at the either side.
She is 'tall' for a lady, with long slender legs.
She didnt take my breath away immediately but I think I could have fallen for her if she were to sit beside me.
I was reading my biz law textbook and I think she noticed that as well so she kena stressed and took out her reading materials.
So in between the journey I listened to my mp3, read my text and occasionally stole some glances over to her as well. Not exactly very productive but hey books can everyday read but it's not everyday that you get to meet someone who really interest you..at least for me it hold true.
The best thing is..she alighted at JE as well but alight at Bukit Batok.
I think tomorrow I will try the same schedule again, leave school by 1050 and see if I can catch her around again.
'Fate' is the word.

not well recently...
Sunday felt like falling ill so didn't proceed to school to study
Monday hell broke loose..dripping nose the entire day together with sore throat. I think the mass comm people in the library hate me real bad for my constantly sniffing nose drip.
proceed with 4 panadol cold tablet to counter the 'invasive' germs.
Luckily didn't end up with Fever. God Bless!
Today... flu virus partially defeated. but still encountering resistance forces with blocked nose. Sore throat seem to get slightly worse. But...We Will PREVAIL!
Tomorrow- pending on situation. Outlook= slightly cloudy
Dammit, I've been watching my diet real strict and still end up with this illness.
Boo!

Classic love or rather heart-breaking song.
moments ago, my frens and I were discussing relationship stuffs, don't ask me why. I myself also don't know how we arrived at that topic but we were rambling to the 'POLY' curse each of us suffered the moment our name appears in the name lists of DICT 1A/24.
In any case you were wondering with lotsa question marks on your head, the curse works like these: those who have girlfriends before they enroll in poly will remain attached while those who came on a clean slate are curse with single hood; be it whether the current relationship work out. It is so evil but the curse actually did work till now; at least for me and the others guys in my class...not sure about the gers though but there really must be something wrong because we..'ahem' are not that bad ourselves either..Hahaha
Next semester holiday considering whether to go Korea for summer studies. My sister might be going, the guys from EEE might be going. Have to check out the possibilities. Never say never.

I've been traveling to and forth school this week.
because I have decided to study full time in school.
Home is noisy with the exam over and kids playing basketball at odd hours in the morning and afternoons.
So next time when each of you reading this post decide to buy a house...remember the BIG 'NO' before you decide on your dream home.
NO to buying a house at low level
NO to buying a house with a provision shop at your block
NO to buying a house beside the basketball court
NO to buying a house which is near any school
There is another reason actually for studying in school..it's because there is no bed..and I tell you I LOVE MY BED VERY VERY MUCH because it is so comfortable.
I can perpetually lie on my bed in the morning for 2 hours w/o doing anything but I just cant get to sleep because I'm a light sleeper. Therefore it's not easy for me to fall back to sleep once I wake up. Though I tried my best to toss and turn, it is always to no avail because formulas and numbers starting turning into my head and well you guess it..I will force myself to wake up, eat brunch, traveled to school, reach library @ 130pm, eat dinner at 7pm, study till 10pm, reach home at 11pm, surf net till 1am...and the whole cycle repeat all over again till the end of exam I supposed so...
I got a lot of stuff to talk alot...but it's late. My bed is calling for me.
and I dunno why this week a total of 160 peoples visited this blog when there isn't much updates anyway. Hahaha

I have just discovered today...
the real occupation of my part-time accounting tutorial lecturer.
I have always thought him as a accountant who volunteer his time to teach in NTU.
Since today is the last tutorial, I asked him straight out what is he doing outside.
Which he replied he was once a CFO of General Motors.
In case you do not know what does CFO mean, its = Chief Financial Officer
And all of us dropped our jaws, totally stunned at his reply.
I did a check on google for his position and found this link:
http://www.behringer.com/01_news/pr_detail.cfm?lang=eng&prid=95&t_search=&productID=&day=0,0&month=0,0&year=0,0&p=18&s=n&i=Please%20type%20keywords...
1 word: Respect
2 words: Super Rich
I am proud and honor to be his student~ hahaha.
Such a pity he will not be teaching next sem.

I went to cut my hair today.
No more radical hairstyle or long fox tail.
It is a decent- normal looking hairstyle to prepare for exam!
as well as my cousin wedding on 24th Nov before my last 2 paper on the SAME day on 26th Nov.
I was contemplating real hard whether I should go for the wedding.
Afterall, suppose if I go I will keep looking at the watch anyway to go back home to study asap instead of enjoying the dinner @ Intercontinental Hotel.
But wedding is a once in a lifetime thingy while exam is always just 1/2 a semester away.
So I decided to put in more effort to cover more stuffs now so that I can go for the wedding. What a great source of motivation.
But why am I blogging now? Haha.
Anyway it seems as though its the season for D&D because while I was waiting to cut my hair in the salon just now, there were 4 ladies styling their hair for the event. I got a free show of pretty ladies with their nice hair, beautiful make-up and long flowing dresses. I like D&D! Haha. I think it's a good opportunity to relax with company mates after a hard long year of corporate battle for those who are working and for those who are still studying, it is a good opportunity to dress up to the niceties and become a photo whore for a day...to snap up as many pictures as possible.
I must attend a DnD next year in school.

I must go and cut my hair
I must go and cut my hair
I must go and cut my hair this friday because it is irritating me to the core.
GRRRRR..
Anyway if you have been following the news regarding S377A, you might have hear of this name: Thio Li Ann. I checked her out at this webbie: http://www.parliament.gov.sg/AboutUs/Org-MP-CV-NMP-ThioLA.htm
and I must add she got a very impressive resume. Oxford,Harvard, Cambridge..she's been there. done that and she also got herself in a storm of controversy regarding her speech in the parliament.
Her speech is quite long and full of law jargons so you might no totally understand because it's way to dense for non-academias like us but she did raise some heckles in her speech such as:
Then there was her wit, deployed so civilly. Anal sex is like ’shoving
a straw up your nose to drink’, she said. A colleague of mine googled
that and discovered it was an often cited image in American anti-gay
pamphlets. To top that, she said 377A must be kept on the books so we
can say ‘Majullah Singapura’, not ‘Mundur Singapura’. If you did not
get the joke, here is a clue: Mundur means ‘backward’ in Malay, and
‘backward’ here alludes to that ’straw’ and another orifice. See? Now,
isn’t that funny?
I got it from this webbie: http://pleinelune.wordpress.com/2007/10/27/i-heart-janadas-devan/
so if up to this point you are really interested about the hoo-ha of 377A do visit it because it is really quite interesting to see witty people sparring head on with their wits and in this case, the words are really mightier than the sword!
btw, our own very ntu student from mass comm Mr. Alfian Saat was also involved as well.
