Liar Liar
The two weeks cycle finally end today. I am almost running out of steam but I can’t take a break due to shortage of manpower. All of us are still going to mount duty for the next 2 weeks with no rest day in sight. Therefore, I would like to ask my fellow platoon mates to do me a favour. If I am not doing my stuffs well because of my diminishing energy level, do holler or kick my ass to wake me up. So in a meantime, let’s hang on and place our thin hope together everything will be better after the next 2 weeks.
But at the meantime, I’m glad at least we knew how to make merry amid difficult period. We brought all our barang barang and foodstuffs and made our own dinner (spaghetti, hotdogs, nuggets) and night snack. (Glutinous rice balls) We played matches after matches of Winning Eleven because it was a weekend Saturday duty. Jokes were cracked and embarrassments were saved with every idiotic action Mr. Tok Cock made. It was nevertheless something better than nothing to compensate the loss of our standby.
When I was still studying in secondary school, the first item I would normally turn to after I got the now defunct newspaper “Streats” is the Horoscope Page. I was actually quite addicted and believed to a certain degree the authentically of the reading. And so when it says I would generally do well for my exams, I was quite pleased and stepped into the examination hall with the added boost of confidence riding up my chest. But it was a totally different story when I got back my examination paper. From then on, I woke up to my folly and treat horoscope reading as only another source of entertainment.
September 19-25: There’s something heroic and stubbornly romantic about you – always has been. You refuse to give up on a dream, passion or ideal, despite incredible odds. Sometimes this puts you up against the rest of the world; but other times, you’re able to experience the holy grail of love. Don’t give up on your dreamy hopes for love and happiness this week. I think there is a “Feel Good” feeling after reading the above. Perhaps it is how they phrase the words that make you go "GaGa" but the bottom line is; it is still a bunch of craps.
Somehow I got this weird idea that came into my mind which I hope can be fulfill before I ORD. What is it like to see a reaction of the base personnel who refuse to either follow our instructions or act Guai Lan in front of us if I were to tell him I am carrying 30 rounds of ammunition with me. I bet it is going to be very comical but of course I am not going to try it because the consequence is going to be disastrous. After all, this is Singapore lei, not Somalia or Iraq.
Manchester United were lucky to draw 0-0 with Liverpool. Considering it as away game and with so many injuries, it is still a average result. However, the biggest winner is still Chelsea. Someone please beat them the next match!
